14 Weeks Pregnancy Update..

This week the baby has more defined facial features, it can now turn its head and wrinkle its brow and may even be sucking its thumb. It can now respond to external stimulus by actually moving away when the doctor feels the abdomen. The baby is now roughly 9cm and weighs around 60g.

My baby bump is a little more prominent but people still can't actually tell I'm pregnant, they just assume I'm a little chubby. I have been wearing my 'Baby on board' badge, and 1 person did give me their seat on the tube! *hooray*

I have been taking the Pregnacare vitabiotics supplement since I found out I was pregnant for those who are wondering. It contains all the essential vitamins and folic acid. I sometimes take their omega 3 tablets too. Currently my eating is still a bit crap, but it's improving. I have been put off every single strong smell with the most disgusting scent being fish *bleuuuuurghhh* I go for anything plain and just a whole bunch of fruit. Fruit is the best.

I have been rubbing all sorts on my belly ranging from 'Body Shop' body butters, Neal's Yard 'Mothers Balm', Cocoa Butter 'Miracle oil' as well as 'Bio oil' all to keep my tender bits moisturised and supple in a bid to avoid stretch marks, so far so good but it's still very early days.

The Body Shop 'Body Butters' have been my favourite to rub all over my body, I stocked up in the Xmas sale and have almost every variation. I love how thick and moisturising the consistency is.

However, my absolute FAVOURITE which I have been rubbing over my belly, breasts and thigh area is the Neal's Yard 'Mothers Balm'.

It's a thick balm which is easily absorbed into the skin, it does leave a slight oily residue but that just lets me know how moisturising it is. I have read a few reviews that anyone who has used this whilst pregnant never got stetch marks so I wanted to put it to the test.

It contains coconut, apricot, beeswax, almond, and macadamia oil all of which is 100% organic. All good then, it costs just under £20 for 120ml which is a little expensive but worth it if it REALLY does keep me stretch mark free. Also a little goes a long way so it does last quite a bit.

I went to the Topshop maternity section to be disappointed and ended up finding this gorgeous green flowy top from their standard range. It will work wonderful on my bump during the summer with skinny jeans, and when I'm bump free with a nice waist belt. Price: £25

I spied these beautiful short wedge leather sandals also in Topshop and fell in love within a second. I have so many flat sandals but wanted one with a slight wedge for extra support and a tiny bit of height. The wooden wedge makes it ideal for causal outfits yet still summery and boho chic to go with glam outfits too.

The front panel is rather large which makes it quite interesting and cool in my opinion, I wore them today and can't even explain how comfortable they are, there's nothing to dig into the sides of your feet making it PERFECT for a pregnant lady who's feet may swell up. FYI: They look good with skinny jeans or a skirt. Price £45

I wont be doing pregnancy updates each week, just when I feel like it. Speak soon and enjoy the rest of the weekend! :) x X x

@Livia & @Rebekka Thanks, I just don't want to bombard too much pregnancy info and get everyone bored :) but if you like it then that's another story! :)

@Fantastic it's so hard, it's better just to look at the normal ranges and hunt the suitable outfits down :) xx

Bio Oil is awesome! It definitely prevented stretch marks on me. Don't forget to moisturize your upper thighs/butt area too because that area is prone to stretch marks as well. P.S. I think it's a girl!

I'm loving the fact that your pregnant, I will be 12 weeks on monday so we wont be far apart and nice to see what products work for you in pregnancy :) xx
I've heard really good things about the Neal's Yard cream - my friend used it - and although her tummy got huge - she had NO stretchmarks.

I wish I had listened to her...I slathered on Bio-Oil twice a day (despite hating the smell)...but 3 weeks before my delivery, purplish stretchmarks showed up on my side :-( Being pregnant with twins - I don't know if stretchmarks were inevitable or not....still, after a year they faded to silvery marks which you can only really see up close.

Still - if I were to do it again - I'd use Neal's Yard for sure...and you can't go wrong by trying a bit of everything - as you're doing ;-)

Hey gorgeous girl!! I am so excited to hear your great news. Check out this website, http://www.mamamio.com I have never been prego, but a lot of people (and famous people) say the stretch mark stuff and the "boob tube" work miracles!!
Also, I wanted to tell you that I have been so inspired by your blog, that I am going to start my own blog! I am so shy and I feel awkward because people might make fun of me or if no one reads my blog, but not any more, I'm going to do!!! Thanks for the inspiration. I'll let you know when its up and running, I would love for you to take a peek!
Much love from Texas!!

Hi dear Muhsine!!
Thanks so much for telling me about your latest post via Twitter, I have been a bit absent this weekend!! I was really wondering how you both would be doing.
I can tell the picture of yours with the belly is pretty!! Love the striped top and the sunshine / light in the picture!!
I love TBS butters but I can feel the Neals Yards balm will be even better!
Have you checked that product for tired legs by Clarins I told you?
Lots of love from Spain,

You're wearing a badge so that people will know you're pregnant? To get people to give you a seat? Pathetic. I'm annoyed that such things even exist. You're pregnant, not disabled, I'm sure you can still stand up.

Aw you look so cute mA! I'm 16 weeks and my baby bump is growing by the week too!

About maternity clothes..super hard to find cute ones, I always end up getting flowy tops from the regular lines at stores:-) I feel like maternity tops always look old fashioned or not as chic!

Love the top and shoes! And thanks for recommending that Neals Yard cream, I have to to out and get some!

Also please do more pregnancy posts! I love them! Maybe I'm biased because I'm pregnant too lol:-)

Take Care Muhsine! You look great!

Congrats hun!! I definitely recommend anything Palmer's baby belly related, and bio-oil! I used them all pregnancy long, as well as a few essential oils I read about (anything that penetrated skin deeply), and I never got a stretch mark! Keeping the skin nice and tight with creams also means getting a flat tight tummy very quick after baby! Excited to watch your belly grow, I just LOVE momma belly's, so beautiful!

Hey Congrats on your pregnancy! I myself am 25 weeks pregnant with my first child. I suffered through the first 16 weeks. Puking, nausea and consistent bad mood. I didnt wanna go out and just felt miserable all the time. I didnt touch my makeup for about 4 months. The thought of putting on makeup made me wanna puke. But I'm feeling alright now, back to being my pre-pregnancy self.

Well, i hope you have a smooth pregnancy and good luck finding the sex of the baby. ^_*

ochh, your tummy is fantastic!:) This is exciting, and cute <3 I very like it :):):)
I do love Neal's Yard but best thing I've ever seen anyone use is Elemis' Japanese Camellia Oil. I used to recommend it to my pregnant clients all the time and every single one of them continued to use it even after pregnancy. Even better its safe enough to use on the baby too! If you give it a whirl let me know how you get on

Hope everything continues to go well for you and baby :o) xoxo
