How to make the most of your closet space!

In this post I will be sharing some of my organisation tips to save space, firstly I removed the door of my closet so that my room appeared larger.

I accessorised with items and colours that were suited to my decor and style.

The first thing you need is thin hangers, wooden ones obviously look more beautiful but they are so chunky which means you can't squeeze as many clothes in.
As you can see behind my clothes I have hung my necklaces.

I have SO many necklaces and when they are on show they look very cluttered, and tucked away in a box they get tangled and I hardly wear them because I don't see them. I have hung them on tiny nails which is practical and inspiring for me as I can quickly associate them to the clothes I'm wearing.

I have put more nails on the side for different types of necklaces..

I have put bigger nails so that I can hang my hair tools for easy access, when doing this make sure you have the nail at a slant so that the tools wont fall off if you accidentally touch them.

I have put more nails right on the top for my hats.

Give me some nails and a hammer and I'm busy!
:)

I have a small closet but I make the most of it. It's like a Mary Poppins closet, everything pops out, but the best thing is that everything has a place.

Do you have any space saving tips?

Great post.
I have some nails on the inside of the doors of my wardrobe and I put my necklaces there.
How do you get to yours? Do you just push the hangers to one side to get the back I guess?

You wardrobe is so organised. I have a floordrobe myself. ;) x
Removing the door is such a clever idea. I love the curtain and your wallpaper! Some clothes which I always wear together are put on the same hanger, sort of like a ready made outfit, to save space!

Lovely closet and lovely necklaces...I also tend to organise things by colour and the ideaa of making the most of your space seems like a versatile tip, thanks! :D
You've inspired me to update my closet. we have a small closet too and the majority of it are my clothes. I love what you did with the necklaces -- might have to give that a try.

My mom has sooo many necklaces like you Muhsine, and she has also been using the nail or small hook technique for easy and less cluttered storage for them, works like a charm and it looks neat and very easily accessible! I wish I could give up my wooden hangers but I can't seem to lol whatever I cannot hang unfortunately I need to fold and put away in those hanging storage things..By the way I love the little heart! So cute! xoxo

Great post, sweetheart! My favorite tip concerning closets is to keep a little draw string pouch somewhere in it with your favorite pot pourri, or in my case, my favorite Lush bubble bar or bath bomb... My clothes always smell so sweet when I pull them from the closet :) xxx

i like the fabric that you used in place of the door! i don't know that i have many good closet tips--i'm one of those who uses only wood hangers, yet gets upset with how much room they consume.

i do like to keep fabric bins on some higher shelves--one is for clutches, the other for scarves, etc etc. It keeps them out of sight, yet I know I only need to bring one down to find what I'm looking for. xx
What a cleaver idea! I am currently in the process of figuring out a new makeup storage setup since I have outgrown my old storage system ;) I <3 your blog.

Hanging those necklaces is a great idea, saves time trying to decide which one to wear, plus they don't get tangled this way! ;)

Sadly, my closet is..rented (& lined with wooden panels), so I can't really create holes, however I 've thought of building a frame display for my necklaces and earrings, hopefully I 'll get to it someday!

xx
