Lip Palette Idea

Remember when I did a DIY lipstick palette?

Well now, I took it a step further! I depotted all of the pans and put magnets on the back and arranged them in a Mac quad as it's much smaller. I updated some of the colours and now I have the perfect compact lip palette which is great for travelling!

Do you have a lip palette idea? Do share!

wow, this is a fantastic idea! i can't even imagine the amount of time this would take me.

i'm not sure if i would do it though, because i can be quite messy and i'd probably end up smearing some shades together :p. but i think i'm still intrigued enough to try it out with a few shades.

thanks for sharing!

Amazing idea - and really compact too!

Are the lipsticks in eyeshadow pans from the Claire's case in the other post? They slot together so neatly!

I'm thinking of doing this for my mom - was looking through her lipsticks the other day - and she has so many tubes with so little product - yet she doesn't want to throw them away.

@Dani Thanks :) You should try it, it just needs some patience.

@Ella Pretty - Yes they were eyeshadow pans :) It's a good idea to do that for your mum, she will love it.

this further proves my point! hehe.. although, i like this idea--i've got a couple quads that i haven't put to use, and this would be a very good use of them :) i love your creativity! x

Such a good idea but i know myself.. between the smooshing, melting, depotting, magnet sticking... I would burn my house down. Its cheaper to just keep them as they are and suffer the space issue when I travel! hehe xxx

omg that is sooo amazing!!!! omg!! (i read ur other post and woow!!) so thats how lipstick palettes are made!!! i might try that in the near future!!
Did you find that you managed to melt a whole lipstick for each little section? or did you have to leave some in the tube? Thanks1 x

Very good idea. But you have to be brave and travel with a lip brush.
I don´t know if i could do this to my mac lipsticks but maybe with the rimmel ones.

WOW! If only I was talented like you. :) Great idea, great post. Unfortunately I just don't have the material for DIY. Even if I try, it will probably end in a catasthrophe. Like Tali said, I will probably burn my house down. :)

@Tali lol :)

@Glitterish Allsorts - I only melted 1/4 of a lipstick.

Wow wow wow! Just genius! Any idea how long the original palette took to make?
Muhsine Emin said…
Ji Julie - it took quite a while, melting the lipsticks depotting them, I'd say it's a nice thing to do on a Sunday :)

Thanks for the estimate!
