Breakthrough..

For ME anyway!

I often mix my foundations, TM's and moisturisers to get my desired finish and colour but only do it when I'm desperate. I prefer to use one product that does exactly what I want without the fuss.

Yesterday I nearly puchased a new bottle of foundation, but battled with that urge. Instead, I mixed the Laura Mercier TM with Benefits 'You Rebel' TM, and the effect was great. Today I mixed Bourjois' 'Healthy Mix' foundation with 'You Rebel' and the finish was amazing. It seems like 'You Rebel' (something I nearly got rid of) is beautifying the finishes that I don't like.

The photo doesn't do the finish justice, my face is matte but it still has a glow to it. The shade is perfect too, but the flash loves to interfere!!!

Next time you "think" you need a foundation, why not mix what you already own to create your custom shade and texture.

I like the look but it seems as if the foundation is too light for you? Your face and neck don't match in the photo, but that could just be caused by your camera flash?

@Laura yes it's the camera flash as the yourebel containts spf it blanks me out, I should have taken it without flash.

Lush have brought out a new product called colour supplements that basically are a range of 4 different colours that can be used alone or used in conjuction with you're mositurizer could be quite a good buy but for 20g of product for £7.50 i think is a little steep?x

Your face looks so smooth, like airbrushed! Very pretty :) I have been mixing my foundations too, and love the results!

I really like You Rebel but have the original and it is wayy too dark for me. I always have to mix it with foundation or dilute in the summer with lots of moistuiser. I must like the product a lot though because normally I would find this really hard going but I've done it two summers going. I think this was the Benefit product that Lollipop26 had a bad reaction with. If I didn't already have the product, I think this would have put me off buying it.

Thanks girls :)

@Jody I never knew lush was doing those, will check them out. thanks xx

@essjay23x yourebel on its own is too much for my skin, it causes me to break out, but if i mix it with something and dont wear it too often it's fine xx

I've been wandering the foundation isles for some time now and each time I convince myself to put it back and just mix what I have, it's been working wonderfully! Glad to see I'm not the only one who does this!

You look beautiful as always!
Matte with a glow sounds like the perfect finish for a foundation! Your skin looks great in the photo x

Perfect balance between matte and a glow. I think everyone wants that in a foundation! Looks lovely :) x

I hate mixing foundation because it takes too much time in the morning... at least for me. I really just want to use one product that would match my skin tone!

This exactly what I do I find that no foundation is the perfect color and texture until I mix them myself I am glad you do that too =)
