Review: Lush 'Honey I washed the kids' Soap!

This soap smells like honey and toffee and once you have sniffed it, it's impossible not to take random whiffs now and then. It smells that good, I'm addicted to it!

I use a massage sponge which is great for making it foam and lather it up with the soap and use it all over my body. It's moisturising and gentle on my skin, in the past I have had random spots on my back, or dry rough areas and this has worked a dream in aiding them to disappear.

WARNING: You may feel the need to declare to everyone that you smell SO nice! :) The scent just lingers on.

If you are thinking of trying some soaps from Lush, I would definitely recommend this one! What are your recommendations?

Price: £2.85 100g.

I have never tried this soap, but I think it will be the first one that I try! Have you tried any others that you would recommend?

@Nikki Godmother is lovely and maybe rockstar too! But Honey I washed the kids is my fav! Works well with chocolate, vanila scented lotions and perfume. Rockstar would work well with sweet floral scents! X

Ohh true, I never even thought that having a soap that has a lingering scent would need a lotion and perfume to go with it! :)

@Nikki I love layering :) but dont like to confuse the scents too much!

Try, Sexy Peel a strong citrus scent that will definitely wake you up on a slow morning.

Flying Fox is great as well. Strong jasmine bohemian scent but has loads of honey in it. Love this as Shampoo too the scent lingers for ages!

I've smelled this one in stores and it just doesn't smell as good as people claim it does- so I'm always ad because I really want to purchase!

I love the way "I Should COCO" feels and smells- the coconut is so exfoliating. I also like the Buffy bar- Its an exfolitating soap as well and leaves your skin SUPER smooth. :-) Thanks for the review.

I have the solid perfume tin of this scent...I put it on my wrists so when I'm typing at work I get a whiff!...yummy! Hubby loves the smell, too...on me of course.

I've not been inside a lush store in about 6 years, actually I think its more than that.. But as soon as I walked in the smell instantly put me off :-/ I know Im in the minority on this one!

Maybe a trip to the store is in order as everyone keeps raving about it!
Does anyone recommend something for oily/spot prone skin!? :)

This is my favourite soap! I love it <3
I don't recommend any of the Lush soaps since they switched their base to the palm free formula, extremely drying and not nice. Long gone are the days when Lush produced soft milky bubbly creamy soaps of joy... however, I do have some chunks of old formuala Waylander which is superb, and I do like the scents of lots of them, but don't really like the sickly sweet ones, Noubar and Vanilla in the Mist are nice scents.

Ooo I LOVE this soap, but my ultimate favourite is miranda...closely followed by sandstone :) both gorgeous! x
I'm like Nikki - I haven't been to a LUSH in SO long - and when I did - I couldn't stand the "collective" smell (and I'm not sensitive to scents).

Long ago, I did try a shampoo soap recommended by the shop assistant - it dried my hair out and gave my scalp flakes :-(

Still - so many people LOVE them, so I'm willing to give them another chance :-) For me - I love Fruits & Passion, L'Occitane and Sabon.

I love this soap. I also love the chocolate one. Just the other day i realised you can cut them at home with a sharp knife so now they fit my soap dish perfectly! xx

Thanks for the comments girlies!

@prettyface its just a matter of preference :)

@Dye-a-graham lol my husband loves it on 'ME' too :)

@Nikki @Ellapretty it can be overwhelming. but the scents on their own can be lovely according to your personal taste.

@Ladygray I don't find them drying at all, but then again i havent tried the old formula!

@Tali Oooo chocolate! I need that one! I've never cut my soap though it seems like a good idea! :)

This was my 1st Lush purchase i ever made when i first started to get into the whole Lush thing but now i no longer buy it & i'm sad because the scent is to die for! Since they changed the formulation of the soap i find it far too drying on my skin & i don't get that "clean" feeling after using it. Doesn't feel as creamy as it once used too so for that reason i no longer repurchase this which is sad :(

If you love the scent then you so should try Soft Coeur which is a gorgeous massage bar which smells amazing!! & Ma Bar which is a bubble bar you use in the bath smells divine but leaves bath water a rather unsightly colour ;)

I really should do a blog on Lush soon i have so many products to review....

I love the Sultana soap, it's even creamier than Honey I Washed The Kids and it has nuts and raisins in it... which it a bit strange haha
I also love Olive Branch shower gel even though it's a bit runny, the smell is great though and it has olive oil which makes my skin super soft

Hi Muhsine, I just made a post about Lush, too. I am not the biggest fan of the soaps but I love Dream Cream and bath melts :)

I bought this a few years ago and even received a sample of it a few months ago but I honestly despise the scent of it! Having said that, I have never really been too keen on honey so it's probably that! Love how moisturising and soft it feels on the skin though :)

Although I am very keen on Lush products, the truth is that I have never tried this classic.
I definitely must!
Maybe a lush order soon!
