My Hair!

Even though the majority of my followers and friends have told me that they actually prefer me with really dark hair that is almost black, I am not having a great time dealing with it!

I find it hard to choose what clothes to wear in the morning, l avoid wearing black as not to look like I am going to a funeral. I have also found that it can make me look really harsh, I feel pale when I am not wearing bronzer and I never really feel pale! Overall, I just think it's TOO overpowering for me.

Therefore, I have hit the anti dandruff shampoo bigtime!!! I have been washing my hair day and night so I can strip some of the colour out of it and make it lighter! This is what it looks like this evening. It's no longer looking "black" but more of a really really dark brown - or is it my imagination? I hope not becuase I can actually see the colour running out everytime I wash it!
I have also added lots more layers to my hair to make it alot more "ME" :)

Excuse the lack of makeup I am wearing, I was having a no make up day but I then FYI later decided to add a bit of BB tinted moisturiser, Boing undereye concealer, Barry M bronzer, some eyeliner on my upper lash line and mac pink fish tlc.
Furthermore, I have a backup plan! If, still after a few more washes my hair isn't the colour I want it to be, I assume that I would have stripped off enough colour to dye it again, this time with L'oreals ultra lightening natural brown. This should work - I hope! I have two packets of these that just keep staring at me :)

Hair is a big thing for me, maybe I shouldn'y have gone for such a drastic change, I don't know.. I always change my mind and end up wishing I just left it alone :(

Personally I prefer you with lighter and shorter hair(its warmer and more glamorous!) but dark & long looks amazing on you too.

Dont worry if it doesnt fade.. i can 100% assure you even if your not used to it or feeling comfortable you do look great!

I do the anti d shampoo thing too. To strip dye i leave it on for 5 min like a mask, wash off then again 5 min & wash off. Hope things fade quickly for you!! xx

it definately is lighter! Stick with the head and shoulders and you will notice more of a difference. Vosene also works doing the same thing. Persevere and you'll get there! X

I know what you mean about dark hair, it can drain you but i think you look lovely, but you do look more tanned with caramel coloured hair. I heard vosene is good to strip dye. x

I personally love the dark hair but I know where you are coming from - if you aren't comfortable then you need to change it! Just a caution though - be really careful dying it again - maybe seek out some advice and look for a hairdressing forum or something, just in case - it will also seriously affect the condition of your hair too xxx

I always dye my hair dark brown to cover up my red highlights and it always ends up looking black. So I end up doing the same thing with the dandruff shampoo or baking soda and it helps get it to the color I want. I don't know why they put a color on a box because it never looks like that after you dye it. I really like the toned down color, suits you very well :)

It really looks good. I can't imagine you looking 'pale' :P

If you find that shampoo isn't doing it for you, add some dish soap in your wash. It's drying, but strips it out especially if you just let it soak in your hair for 5+ minutes.

But yeah, you have the features and face for a shorter cut!

i do the exact same thing! ugh! i go from black to brown to blondish and everything else inbetween including red!!!!! then I just wish i had left it all alone and end up hating the change! i should have never started with the whole coloring thing.... it would be the perfect colour then! xoxo

You're hair is lighter! I hate when your hair isn't working. My girl moved & i went to someone new, I ended up looking like Pracilla Presley when she married Elvis.

Your so pretty, you could get away with any color hair!!!!

oh god. Please don't dye it again. I can assure you those L'Oreal dyes will not lighten it, you are just going to end up with the same colour or something else u don't like & having to dye it yet again! Step away from the dye!!!
If u must go to a hairdressers and have it lightened, at least then you're minimizing the treatments x

I dye my hair dark brown. The darker, the better (for me). I have a fair skin topne, but this hair colour makes it stand out more. Oh & dark hair looks great with bright clothes.

I like the way it looks on you! Sure, you have to get used to it.

Personally I think the dark hair looks great on you hun. You could never look pale!! I think you shouldn't dye it again as it will fade soon enough.
xxx
You don't look pale at all Muhsine and you always look beautiful. I prefer you hair a tad lighter but not too much. I think a couple of more washes and you'll hit pay dirt and get the colour bang on. I've used baby shampoo and that works as well.

Good luck and in the meantime, remember that it would take a heck of a lot for you not to look hot! xxNadia

You are so stunning with any colour hair... but lighter hair suits you much better!
I know what you going through, iv always had a golden brown colour, but wanted a change and i coloured my hair dark brown a few weeks ago and i hate it!

I like your hair light and dark too, i think you can get away with any colour!! I have been using head and shoulders and might need to try something else as I didnt realise it strips the colour out. Mine is red and dont want it stripped!! lol

Maybe u could have some highlights instead of the normal dye,it will ruin less your hair, and with the sun its the colour you want :)

Your hair does look amazing darker but its how you feel isn't it that counts, something that would work really well to lift it would be one of the L'oreal Casting semi perm dyes which are also really gentle so won't wreck your hair (I sound like an advert don't I?) something like 530 Praline or 535 Chocolate would work really well. http://www.loreal-paris.co.uk/hair-colour/all-over-color/casting-creme-gloss/530-praline.aspx J x

@Sherona wow really - black? good luck :) im sure u will look lovely, ur darker than me in complexion so i bet it will look AH-MAZING! and thank you :) im liking the hair colour too now a lil bit more than I initially did, the extensions are lightening too but are a tincy bit darker than my natural hair colour. hmmmmmm *rolls eyes* :) x
ahahha oh okay.. because I was thinking how the extensions would look then, but I really hope you achieve the color you want :D

and thanks sweety.. right now I have blonde highlights.. but it kinda turned brown and I am not liking it at all.. and everyone says I look better with either lightbrown with highlight or black.. so I am going for black.. + I got some clip in extensions for a wedding party on friday.. will post pics on blog..

xxxxxxxxxx
i know i talk way too much haha

You can really pull of any color even the dark brown. I love how you change it up and try new things :) I have gotten so use to having black hair that when I start seeing brown I have to immediately get it done black again, I love it!
