My Vanity Area

Today has been an organising day, I have sorted through my clothes and other belongings. I finally got my mirror from Ikea yesterday and was able to complete the finishing touches of my vanity area. For your info: The desk and mirror are from the MALM range at Ikea. Desk approx £80 and mirror approx £50.

I will show you how mine is set up in detail.

My make up is stored in the lovely floral drawer box from the Laura Ashley range at WHSmith, as previously mentioned in an older blog post.

This birdcage tea light holder is one of my favourite items, I got it ages ago from Laura Ashley. Everytime I look at it, it makes me smile. :)

Oooo my dainty perfume ornament.. I got it because it was pretty, I don't intend to put anything in it. A cute picture frame adds a personalised touch. These are both from TK Maxx.

My Revlon mirror from Boots, it has 3 different light settings and the other side of the mirror is 5x magnified. Approx £40. Very good for plucking eyebrows and applying makeup in areas of bad lighting.

This is how I'm storing my palettes, it's actually a letter holder, how cool of an idea is that? It also holds my trusty Fix+!

This is how I'm storing my brushes: The floral one is for my eye brushes, (from a box set, mentioned at the end). The pink one is a Jemma Kidd brush holder from Boots.

It actually has four compartments, which is very handy.

The drawer includes most of my jewellery.. as mentioned in a previous blog post.

I don't like having clutter on display, I would much rather store them in pretty boxes. This box set of 5 was £14.99 from TK Maxx.

All I'm missing is a chair! Any ideas on where I can find one that suits this area? Thanks. Hope I have given you all some ideas. X

i love!! i've been trying to figure out how to do my vanity and yours takes the cake thus far!

the one thing i knew i wanted was an ottoman chair...the kind that can just be pushed right under the table...although, i don't know if that would be high enough with yours? i suppose there are different sized ones...

I have the exact same vanity area - i bought the mirror and the table around july last year - In december I noticed the table had started to cave in the middle due to how heavy the mirror is.You may need to fix the mirror to the wall.
Big fan of your blog-you are beautiful! Rachx x

I have the same table too, however it is in a lighter wood. I was recently considering whether to get the Revlon Mirror too - Is the light any good?

I bought a chair from Ikea of the same wood - It isnt very glam but it does the trick. It also has a cusion on it to go with the upholstery of our bedroom.

I've just started blogging and i love your blog! You are very beautiful - Already I have learned some tips from you!

@anonymous.. thanks for that but I can't fix it to the wall as we are currently renting and I don't want to damage the walls. Hopefully it will be ok for now, once we get our own house, I can fix it :)

@ mariewilkinson1982 Thanks for that :) i'm glad your'e enjoying my blog! The Revlon mirror is definately good, my husband even uses it for shaving sometimes. It's a must! About your chair: it sounds lovely, I wish I could find one in the exact same wood with a lil cushion on it :) where's yours from? The only ones they had in Ikea were a black ugly kitchen stool, or a white plastic kitchen chair. I'm kind of stuck! x

It was Ikea that I got my chair from. It doesnt match exactly and is basically a dining chair. I found alot of actual chairs were too low to sit at my vanity desk. I made do with this one until I found an actual ottoman/vanity chair and i'm still making do! I think it was this one but it was a couple of years ago.

and i got the chair cushionin ikea too which goes with our room colour scheme. I think they do this chair in a brown wood too.

Good Luck! Thanks for the advice on the mirror.

Thinking maybe a nice little stool that would slide in under the table would be perfect. Maybe you could get a second hand one and recover it in a fabric of choice!! Love your vanity area!
Love it! You have great taste!

@fantastic wowww I like the french one, so cute but it will be too low for this desk, but i love the style. I also like the look of the brown leather rollo ottoman chair. Thanks for that! I will check out laura ashley as they have beautiful furniture in the uk. I'm inspired :) xx
