Max Factor Colour Effect!

Oooo Exciting...

Max Factor has launched a brand new range of 38 products called Max Colour Effect. It’s their brightest and most colourful collection of eye shadows, lip glosses and nail polishes.

Here are 3 of their lip glosses:

• 12 - Sweet Red
• 10 - Orange Snap
• 05 - Weekend Spa
  

The lip glosses are in the squeezy tubes that have a huge resemblance to the Lancome juicy tubes. They smell and taste great and leave the lips looking very glossy with a sheer tint of colour. They feel moisturising and smooth with a similarity to a lip balm. They are not too sticky, but my hair still sticks to my lips when it's windy... Ugh!

• Weekend Spa is a silver toned pale pink, it applies quite pigmented. It smells fruity, a bit like sweet berries. (My Favourite!)
• Orange Snap is a copper toned orange with a hint of gold which applies quite pigmented and smells like oranges.
• Sweet Red is a bright fuchsia pink which applies very sheer and smells like watermelon.

Price: £4.99

I do wish they applied as pigmented as they swatch, that would be amazing! Therefore, I would only recommend these for over lipstick unless your happy with a sheer tint.

These apply with a slight sheen, however the brown one applies quite matte and the turquoise has quite a bit of glitter.These eye shadows are good for on the go, a bit of mascara with a pop of colour on the lower lash line is a cute look for the summer, I will be chucking these in my handbag!

The trio eyeshadow (07) pictured below is something I would never wear, I found them chalky and not very pigmented on the lighter shades. Price: £6.49

The mini nail polishes are very cute, perfect for traveling. Pictured below is 12 - Diva Pink. It's pretty but I think there's prettier. Price: £3.49

The new range is available from June, 2010.

Thoughts and swatches...

The bronze body oil from Mac's latest "To the beach" collection is perfect for summer, the consistency is very light and not greasy or oil like at all, it is easily absorbed into the skin leaving no uncomfortable residue. It gives you a very slight hint of bronze colour and leaves you with finely milled sparkles that catch the light beautifully in bright light. Perfect for the decolletage, legs and arms. Thumbs up from me!

Smashbox "Pout" lipgloss is a sheer cool toned pale baby pink, Mac "Lazy Day" lipstick is currently my favourite lipstick ever. It's a gorgeous cool toned dirty baby pink with a lustre finish. It's similar to "Angel" lipstick by Mac but sheerer and glossier as they have different formulas. It's perfect for lazy days as it provides the right amount of colour for when you want to just pop your sunglasses on and look polished.

Here they are on.

"Amber Lights" eyeshadow is a golden bronze, very pigmented and easy to wear. "Sweet & Punchy" is an amazing golden lime green, it's not similar to Bitter or Rated R in my opinion. It's close, but not quite. "Brule" is a pale cream which applies matte. Perfect highlight or all over lid colour without the drama.

"Well Dressed" blush from Mac has quickly become one of my favourite blushes, Ripe Peach being my favourite peach and Well Dressed being my favourite pink. It's a very pale baby pink with a slight cool toned sheen. I'm roughly a NC30-35 in Mac shades and this just about shows up on me if I use 1 layer, I generally apply 2. If you are into bright pinks then give this a miss. I prefer the more subtle blushes therefore this is perfect for me.

Lately I have been using my Chanel bronze universel and then applying "Well Dressed" on my cheeks which gives a beautiful finish. Must do a fotd.

Soleil Tan De Chanel - Bronze Universel

Could it be the perfect bronzer?

The Bronze Universel now know as "Soleil Tan De Chanel" has accumulated immense interest within beauty junkies, it has achieved both positive and negative reviews over the years. I think I must have been the only person who thought that it looked great but always managed to dismiss it.

The bronze universel is a cream bronzer, the texture is hard to describe as it's not your average cream bronzer - it's not sticky or greasy, it's very smooth. It has a satin like feel and is also similar to a velvet finish.

The colour is a deep brown/bronze with no shimmer and a golden undertone.

I can honestly say...

This is my favourite most perfect bronzer EVER, I have always hated powder products and I'm really kicking myself for not trying it earlier. I could easily chuck out all my other bronzers. I love the colour as it looks so natural, the application, consistency and it's long lasting performance on my skin. Oh and clearly the beautiful Chanel packaging also helps! :)

I mainly use it to bronze which is obvious but it can also be used to contour or even as a blush. This would suit almost all skin tones, a light hand is needed for fairer tones and a heavier hand for darker tones. To apply I first used a Mac or Sigma 268 but got extremely irritated as I saw the hairs building up on my bronzer because of shedding. I just hate picking them out. Therefore, I found that the best method for me is using the Everyday Minerals flat top kabuki brush as I have absolutely no shedding with it.

The only downside is the product is so large that it makes it a bit bulky for traveling. A travel size version would be nice. Chanel take note.

Price: £28 (30g) Worth every penny in my opnion, plus 30 grams of product is fantastic, as many bronzers are only 9 grams.

Hello hello!

On Friday night me and my hubby went to his best friends wedding who we all went to school with. It was a beautiful Islamic wedding, the groom was Turkish and the bride was Moroccan so it was a lovely mix of traditions.

I ended up wearing something I already owned after a few purchases and some drama. I love this dress, I actually wear it quite a lot, I dress it up or down depending on the occasion. It actually ended up being perfect, it was modest without being too OTT. Zero points for holding your clutch the wrong way round.

Here's the makeup I wore:

Face: Bobbi Brown moisture rich foundation + Bobbi Brown creamy concealer under the eyes. Mac sheer mystery powder applied to T-zone.

Cheeks: Chanel bronze universel, Mac Moon River to highlight + lighter side of Mac Ripe Peach as blush.

Eyes: Mac Carbon e/s in the crease and outer V + Cork e/s to blend it out. Benefit eyebright on inner corners of the eyes. Revlon colorstay liquid liner, Urban Decay 24/7 Zero on waterline and YSL faux cils mascara.

Lips: Mac Oak lipliner, Mac Myth lipstick + Revlon Peach petal lipgloss = LOVE!

On a side note, I picked up Mac "Lazy Day" lipstick, it's simply gorgeous. It's not anything unique but it's just very pretty. It's similar to Angel but a lustre version. I'm seriously loving it!

• Mac "Sweet and Punchy" eyeshadow from the latest "To the beach" collection. A gorgeous golden lime green with a veluxe pearl finish which is my favourite type.
• Mac "Bronze body oil" also from "To the beach" collection.
• Mac "Carbon" e/s in pan form for my palette.

I still haven't located my usb cable so I used my camera on my phone for photos which are really making me cringe as I hate the quality - Eeek!

What did you buy from "To the beach"? I totally skipped the cream bronzers I was lemming as nothing is as good as Chanel's bronze universel.

Hello, :) long time no blog! Hope you are all doing well. I miss you guys!

I have been missing as the decorating in the flat is taking up most of my time. I have chosen my feature wall wallpapers yesterday and I am quite pleased.

Below is the one for the bedroom, the flowers are a little more green toned than it seems in the picture, the lighting was a bit off, but you get the gist!

What I'm loving right now!

I have a spare minute and an Internet connection as I'm at my mother-in-laws, Yay! The decoration is coming along slowly but surely. The past few days I have been living out of a tiny makeup bag and I have been LOVING my 2 minute routine.

Here's what I love right now..

• Chanel bronze universel (Soleil tan de chanel) I love this cream bronzer, it looks so natural and is very quick to apply with a Mac or Sigma 168.
• Mac brave new bronze lipstick A lovely wearable nude perfect for my skin tone.
• Revlon pink pop lipgloss Brightens up my face, need I say more?
• YSL touche eclat concealer I love this under my eyes, it makes me look less tired than I am.
• Rimmel dark brown eyebrow pencil This does the job fast with a natural effect, I quickly fill in my brows very lightly.
• Mac eyelash curlers Works well and I have never had a problem with it, I have been using it for over a year.

My typical 2 minute routine goes like this:

1. Apply Bourjois 10hr sleep effect foundation
2. Apply YSL touche eclat concealer under the eyes
3. Curl lashes, apply mascara.
4. Apply bronze universel de chanel
5. Lipstick or lipgloss

That's it, no fuss, easy, simple but elegant. Or as they say in Turkish: Az ve Öz!

Quick Update

I have just moved houses yesterday, I don't know when I will get an Internet connection or when my next post will be. I am not able to keep up with emails or respond to comments.

It's killing me not being able to blog, I have got so many new goodies that I am loving. I am particularly in love with the Chanel bronze universel which I will review once I get a chance.
