Giant Granny Sqaure Blanket!

I am officially a crochet addict.

I made myself this beautiful giant granny square blanket, it seems I have progressed from hairbands, rounded motifs and buntings. I made Esra THIS blanket whilst pregnant, but I made it up as I went along, I feel much more advanced now and want to go crazy making something else and see how creative I can get.

And, PLEASE leave the stereotypes out there, not everybody who crochets is old! It's actually really fun and therapeutic! :)

I love the colours I chose, it's very refreshing and not your usual colour combination. :) I did a scallop border to finish it off!

I used the basic granny square pattern from 'Erika knight's' Crochet Workshop book, the key to a successful square is to use the same tension so that it doesn't twist.

Happy Saturday! xx

New Makeup Storage!

A trip to Ikea a couple of days ago inspired me to have a makeup organisation revamp! I was using the acrylic Muji drawers but it started looking too cluttered, I preferred the baskets I was using but Esra kept grabbing them on the way out! :) So, here's my new solution!

The Ikea wooden 'Moppe' drawers, previously named 'Fira'. I contemplated on whether to cover them in fabric or paper, and went mental trying to choose a colour theme then decided to keep it simple. Less is more as they say!

I spray painted mine a matte white, sanded it a little after to make it look a tiny bit distressed, and added dymo labels to make finding my makeup easier.

Here's a side view, I love my single rose in a glass bottle that used to have Iced coffee in it. Recycling at its best!

I used cotton bud boxes as dividers inside the drawers to keep my lipsticks upright. I used a letter holder from BHS (very old) to store my palettes. I used a candle holder to store my everyday brushes, all the candle holders are from a local shabby chic boutique.

I crocheted a bunting not to long ago, and finally put it up this morning! I LOVE IT!

Hope you are having a lovely day!

How are you storing your makeup?

Eid Mubarak & Esra Update!!

Inshallah everyone is having a wonderful Eid, and indulging in lots of yummy food! I certainly did.. :)

Here are our mine and Esra's Eid outfits from yesterday...

Me: Dress - All Saints, Sandals - New Look, Bangle - Accessorize, Belt - Vintage.
Esra: Dress - Baby Gap, Sandals - Zara, Crochet Headband - Made by me to match!

I went for pearl earrings and pretty neutral makeup but used Urban Decay's 'Lucky' purple eyeliner to make my eyes *pop* :) and FYI I wore Smashbox 'Pout' lipgloss.

Update on Esra!

Esra Aaliyah is 10 and a half months old! I can't believe how fast the time has gone! This time last year I was 9 months pregnant and the days just seemed to drag on. The past month she has grown so much, she is a lot taller and guess what girls?! She took her first steps today! YES, SHE TOOK HER FIRST STEPS! She has been standing unaided for a few weeks now and walking with her walker but hasn't been confident enough to take steps on her own, but today she took 3 steps, I'm so proud! :) She is also officially a climber, good luck to me as she is jumping on the sofas and loving it! She still only has 2 teeth which are on the bottom. She brightens up my day and I love being her mama!

Here are a few shots from today which were taken minutes before she took her first steps.

Hope you are having a fabulous day, my lack of updates is due to being busy busy and my laptop being extremely slow, it's on its last legs :( but, if you are missing your dose of Bubblegarm you can always check me out on Instagram which I update daily. *kisses*
