Ombre by Rush...

Today I got my hair done. And it really was crying out for some love.

I was asked to review the 'Rush' salon conveniently situated on Oxford Street, a spot of shopping and a new 'hairdo'? Yes please.

I went to the salon with the intention of going either much lighter or extremely dark and I got the best of both. I got ombre.
I attempted the 'at home' ombre myself in the past, (twice to be precise) but never really got it perfect which ended in me dying it back to brown after a few days. However, this time round the professionals worked their magic and I LOVE it.

Here's my 'before' pic where I look ermmmm extremely worried. You can see that my hair was a flat weird warm shade of brown with my roots coming through. *Sigh* Not a good look.

What did I have done?

Half head of foil highlights all over except from the crown
Dip Dye bleach to lighten the ends
Darkening of the roots to match my natural hair colour
Glossing
Cut
Conditioning treatment

Here's me in all my foil glory...

The result....
A perfectly natural looking ombre, well as natural as it gets anyway. :)

I'm so pleased I had the highlights done as well as the dip dye/ombre as it resulted in a more dimensional colour and helped frame my. I love that my roots are dark and how low maintenance it's going to be for me as it grows out. Did you know that Ombre is STILL one of the most requested looks?

A huge thank you to the whole team at Rush Oxford St who were extremely friendly and helpful even though they didn't even realise I was a blogger at first. it just goes to show that they are super attentive and friendly to every single customer. Furthermore, a special thank you to Chris the colourist who did an amazing job! Thank You. A 10/10 from me! I would totally recommend the salon without any hesitation.

What are your thoughts on Ombre? In the beginning I hated it and still do on some people, but when done right it's rather magical. Can you tell I'm happy?

(Disclaimer - I wasn't paid for this post but I did get my hair done courtesy of Rush PR for review purposes, my 100% honest opinion as always.)

It looks gorgeous love it!! I actually tried to ombre my hair this past weekend and it went terribly wrong! I have very dark hair and the ends turned out bright orange!! EEEK! I turned out running to the beauty supply store and coloring all one even brown. I'm jealous of your beautiful hair!..in a good way, promise. SO glad you're still blogging, got a little worried there ;)

@Annie thank you so much, yes my hair went orange the first time I tried to do it at home too, it's a bit risky when you have really dark hair. But I'm a happy bunny now :) xx

Your hair looks amazing! I was just contemplating going back to ombre.. I tried it at home myself and had the same reaction.

A fresh hair coloring really changes a mood.. I think I might take the plunge as well.. thank you for the inspiration :)

p.s. so great to see you blogging as well. I always find myself looking for your posts from time to time.

Your hair looks great! I dyed my hair red a few years back which resulted in it fading to a light brown/dark blonde which looked awful at first but when I let it grow a bit, it turned out to be a natural ombre which I am loving at the moment!

Your hair looks amazing! You totally pull off the ombre look. I wish I was brave enough for highlights.

My hair is dark brown naturally so I have to bleach to get lighter shades which I'm worried will ruin my hair. So I always stay dark. Right now I have mahogany shade hair.

I love ombre (so I love yours :D) but the only downfall I find with it is that it is rare for me to find an ombre that looks good with straight styled hair. If your hair is naturally wavy, then you're lucky. I feel like ombre totally looks its best when curled but that's just my opinion :P

I'm glad u went for ombré instead of light all over as u look so lovely with dark hair mashallah (a lot like Adrianna Lima). So it's definitely the best of both worlds :)
