Laura Mercier TM and Mac 'Asian Flower' Lipstick...

2 new makeup purchases and instant love.

You all know how much I love the 'Mac Face & Body foundation' however it has no SPF and I wanted to try something new. I took a trip to Sapce NK and got swayed into purchasing the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. I have tried the oil free version in the past but I had the wrong shade so it didn't get much love.
I purchased the 100ml for £40 instead of the 30ml for £33. Good deal.

I got the shade 'Sand' and it's a perfect match for my NC30-35 skin tone. However, please note that I am not the same shade in the oil free version.

The tinted moisturiser has a nice creamy texture that isn't matte or dewy, it just looks natural on the skin as you would expect a tinted moisturiser to be like. It actually covers a little bit more than the Mac F&B and it lasted the whole day on me today without powder!

I checked out the heavenly creatures collection and didn't see anything that I REALLY wanted, but purchased a sheen supreme lipstick in 'Asian Flower' instead, and wow it's such an amazing colour.

I wouldn't typically go for something that looks purple, but when swatched it has a slight pink hue to it which really translates when you apply it to the lips. It almost looks like it has a duochrome effect, it doesn't but it just has that extra dimension.

It has an amazing creamy texture with a glossy finish that makes lips look plumper. It brightens up my complexion and I LOVE it. It lasts a decent amount of time despite the sheen and it fades really nicely too.

Here's a random instagram pic of me wearing both items!! I will do a proper FOTD when I get a chance. (promise)

What are your thoughts on the Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and Mac Asian Flower lipstick?

I have wanted the laura mercier tinted moisturiser for so long but I have never known whether to get the normal or the oil free one. is there any difference? I have dry/normal skin.

I'm glad you are enjoying the posts :)

@roselin the shades are different in the oil free and it isn't as creamy, it's more matte but still nice. The normal version is much nicer in my opinion esp for normal/dry skin. X

To be honest, I have never really tried a tinted moisturiser before - I have dry/combination skin and I never know what version to go for. I'm thinking about maybe trying the normal version to start with and then see how that goes. 'Asian Flower' looks amazing!!! xx

Hey! I've been following your blog forever but this is my first time commenting.

Awesome post! I love Laura Mercier. Thanks :)

What do you think of natural makeup? I’ve started going to an esthetician at a medical spa by my house, and she’s given me GlyMed Plus® products. http://www.glymedplus.com/store/index/category/44/healthy-skin-makeup Really good makeup, and it clears my skin! Have you heard of them? Maybe you can review them?

That looks like such a gorgeous colour! I love how rich and feminine it is. I only have bright reds and bright pinks, so it'd be nice to have something of a cooler tone in between those.

Sincerely,
Sabrina

That is a very pretty shade. I would generally be hesitant about purple, it would be intimidating, but it's not as bold as you would think, it's beautiful on you. I've never tried tinted moisturizer/foundation before. I'm very fair so I'm not sure what it would look like. I've heard great things about Laura Mercier, I've always wanted to try her stuff.

Anyway, this is my first visit, I am a new follower. I'm going to get lots of inspiration here, that's for sure!

This lip color looks pretty, maybe a bit too challenging for us Japanese :P

I'm very interested in british / european / american beauty items as I'm living in Tokyo. Hope we can share information about our cultures! <3
