Mac 130 brush and a travel tip!

The 130 brush from Mac is one of my most used brushes!!! It's a short duo fibre brush and almost like a mini version of the 187. In my opinion it's best suited for applying cream products including blush, bronzer, concealer and foundation.

Here's what it looks like compared to the 187 so you can see how small the head is.

I mainly use the 130 to apply my cream bronzer!!

My 130 brush is best friends with my Soliel Tan De Chanel, they get on so well together!
The 130 is the perfect size for your cheekbones and temples. It always pick up the right amount of product and hardly ever sheds.

TRAVEL TIP!

My problem with the Chanel bronzer is that it is NOT travel friendly, it's HUGE and would take up so much space. To fix this problem I decanted (scraped) some of the product into a small travel pot that I got as part of a set from Boots which fits the 130 beautifully.

Perfect in my makeup bag on the go!

Do you own the 130 brush? If so, what do you use it for? And, do you have any travel tips when handling make up?

I bought the 130 brush to use with Bronze Universel after your recommendation- at first I wasn't wowed with the effects on my skin but now I love it! Your travel tip is invaluable, though I couldn't bring myself to ruin the Chanel bronzer with a big hole in the middle of the pot- oh noooo! That's my baby!!! haha

This brush is a fav of mine for applying foundation, I have 2 which I use interchangeably. :) x
130 is what I wanted. I use 88 and it works well also. But I like 130 better.

I think I really need the Chanel bronzer - and that brush to go with it!

Good thinking about decanting it to make it travel-friendly.

I use the 130 every day for my foundation! it's perfect since it really buffs the foundation in and makes it seamless, and it really gets into all the crevices of your face since the brush head is small. love it! i also use it for bronzer, when I choose to put some on :)

I had 130 but sold it as I found it too small for applying blush or bronzer. But I am glad it works for you, girls :)

Surprisingly, I've never purchased a high end brush but I've been looking for something to apply my foundation better. The MAC 187 looks like a good pick. :)

i'd be REALLY grateful to see your technique in applying it (circular motions, buffing, etc) i'm staring at my soleil tan is still just sitting on my vanity staring at me cuz i'm so scared to use it (how?) though i know i'll love it when i do!

Actually the 188 is the smaller version of the 187, the 130 is a different style of brush as the head is flatter and it's a different shape x

I love the 130 too! I use it mainly for foundation but I am thinking of getting another for cream blushers.

I never got the Tan de Soleil hype but I've seen a few posts recently mentioning it again and I reeeeeally want it. I've got the 130 and originally used it for foundation but now I tend to use it for highlighting but it doesn't get used too much :( x

i have this brush and love it for applying bobbi brown skin foundation (and nars sheer glow). I feel that it really helps control how heavy your makeup is applied and looks all lovely and airbrushed :)
