Barry M - Tangerine nails

Whilst pursuing the aisles at Superdrug I casually walked by the Barry M stand and this little number grabbed my attention, it was practically shouting at me.

It's a colour I haven't seen before, so I'm assuming it's new, either that or I have been living under a shell. It's number 136 Tangerine and it's exactly the colour of a juicy tangerine with a slight golden metallic finish.

It's basically the nail polish form of the Nars multiple tint in Turks and Caicos, I had to have it.

Like most Barry M nail paints, this one was easy to apply with no streaks. 2 coats are enough but I applied 3 as I wanted really bright and vivid 'in your face' nails.

Perfect for short nails and for summer although the UK seems to confuse it's seasons almost everyday... *Sigh*

Price: £2.95

NAIL RANT: Every time I try I try to grow my nails square they split, chip and break off. It's like all they ever want to be is rounded, I recently purchased a Sally Hansen nail hardener so I'm hoping that will do the trick. I used to have VERY long nails that looked beautiful and fake, and now they are always short because every time one breaks I cut them all off to even them out. *sob* but I guess this way it's more hygienic and you can get away with outrageous colours. However, Tips are welcomed!

I prefer creme oranges.

Metallic/shimmer oranges look awful on me unfortunately.

@Houda Oh no! I'm specifically trying to avoid food related posts - and I go and post about a nail colour called 'tangerine' typical!!! Well I have managed to sneak some nail polish on as it's the time of the month. Inshallah I'm going to do some hijab related posts. Stay tuned. X

I would wear that colour if the sun was out. 'cause when the sun is out I usually step out of my front door covered in bright colours, whether it be lipstick, nails, my cardigan, you get the picture, hehe.

I love that colour! I bought a drug store brand but it ended up being translucent! It took almost 4 coats to cover the nail♥

I have this too, orange is amazing for our skintones :)
I used to be the same as you with my nails, but the best thing for them is Bio-Oil. I massage a drop everyday onto the nail area, focusing on the cuticles and rub til fully absorbed, I honestly swear by it, so it's worth a try! :)

this is so pretty! especially for those with tanned skin. i normally hate orange but in small doses, i kind of like it :p.

That's lovely! :) You should defo try the Perfictil Hair, skin and Nail Tablets. My Nails used to always crack and chip at the ends, but since I bought these and started using them, my nails feel so much stronger!

hey , i used to have the same prob with my nails as i was a horrible nail bitter and when i started to try and grow them they were very brittle and had no shape to them.
My top Tip is to grow them a little so that they have whites on them all at the same length and then cut them down short again with a toe nail cutter ( nice and big) and then just round off slightly the edges of the new short sqaure nails so that their not ruff and file the sides of your nails straight aswell to create a square on the sides aswell as the square top created with cutting them x if you keep doing this everytime they are semi good length they should as mine have and my friends have grow nice and strong from cutting them down and square and shouldnt be so brittle.
sorry its an essay , hope this helps x

Oh, I love Barry M nail polishes and this one looks adorable. Unfortunately on my nails it will not look that good with my really pale skin. On your complexion it is amazing.

Wow beautiful colour! :) I might just have to pick this colour up. My nails are pretty short too and this colour this looks gorgeous on your nails.

A little nail tip: I heard that if you soak your nails in milk it makes them stonger and less prone to breakage :)

That is a wondeful shade to match NARS Turks and Caicos!
I really like those kinds of colours for the summer season. I have tried some Barry M nail polishes and I consider them pretty good value for money. I just wish there was Barry M here in Spain since I have to get them online!

that color looks great on you. Sally Hansen should do the trick. I swear by her stuff. I used to get acrylics and years ago then I finally decided to let my real nails grow in but they were damamged so badly...after a few months os Sally Hansen's they were healthy again! Good luck!

Hi just stumbled upon your blog after searching for a Ciaté cookies and cream review!
And saw that your nails split or break, I used to have that problem too and tried a lot of products but a few months ago I bought "Boots (as in the drugstore) nail strength solution"
It's is an AMAZING price at three pounds for what it does, I apply it as an undercoat every time I paint my nails, it's really quick drying so that's a plus too!
Hope this helps.
