Nubar: Matt vs Gloss
Nubar the Eco friendly nail polish brand from LA have launched their modern matte collection. I was sent "Contempo" from the matt collection which is a pretty Raspberry colour. I was also sent "Cozumel Coral" a gorgeous coral shade which is from their gloss range.
All Nubar polishes are: free from Formaldehyde, phthalates, Toluene and Carcingon. They are not tested on animals and are suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans.
Price: £8

The matt finish, just isn't for me, I am very anti dryness and touching matt nails REALLY irritated me. It looks very dull and uninteresting to me. I am not "with it" on the matt trend. I wore it with a couple of coats, and I noticed chipping from the first day, which is supposedly not supposed to happen with the matt formula?! Do you like the matt finish? The gloss formula for Nubar however is totally different, it lasted ages and looks very pretty.
However, if you are not concerned about the ingredients and really liked these 2 shades, Nails Inc "Burlington Arcade" is an exact dupe for Contempo but with a gloss finish.

In all honesty I'm not that keen on the packaging for Nubar either, It's not at all appealing to the eye. I'm very much influenced by the way a product is presented, I highly value the importance of packaging. But, clearly Nubar is not about that, it's marketed at somebody who is highly influenced by the ingredients and the whole ethical value of a product. Unfortunately I am not Nubar's Target consumer, if you are then this brand is perfect for you.

Coincidentally, when I happened to be wearing the Cozumel Coral, my friend happened to be wearing Barry M's 296 Coral, which is EXACTLY the same colour!

@misscatherine It depends on the way you wish to look at it, it doesnt mean that all vegans are anti leather etc or that my lifestye HAS to be that way, everybody is vegan for different reasons, not just because of animal cruelty, that is certainly not the reason for me. Yes it is affected by it, but not determined by it. I am very aware of what goes inside my body, or ontop of my skin... I am also a muslim, therefore I am extra aware of products that contain alcohol or animal products as they are not halal... long story, but taking it to nail polish in MY opinion is extreme, everybody is entitled their opinion. Just because I don't care about what goes into my nailpolish that doesn't stop me from being vegan lol. I'm not willing to pay 5X the price for something, that would be cruel in it self, I'd rather give the difference in money to charity. :) I'll end it here, I have too much to say lol. And I respect your views on this! :)
No doubt that it would take a bit to take use to, but seeing some photos online, they sure look nice and different that the usual n/p... ;)
